Where’s my passion?

The idea of passion is to have a strong and barely controllable emotion.

But yet I stand exposed, I go to church twice a week and help where can, but yet where is my passion?  I talk to my coworker when they bring up the topic but yet where is my passion.  I walk the isle at the store and I walk next to people that have no clue of what my passion is.  In all reality my passion is in box ready for me when I go to church and when I do devotion, and that’s if I do one.

Where is our passion, when I’m alone and in the dark?  Does this strong and barely controllable emotion still reside in me to block everything else?  If I’m stripped of everything does that passion hold me together like the prophets of old?  Is my identity found in my passion?

I watch people that proclaim to have passion but I can’t tell if it’s real or not.

I watch people that have passion but it’s a passion for the things of flesh and of this world.

Where is your passion?  Going to a seminary the thing I hear most is that there is no great men for this age like there has been in the past.  And you know there right?  As I drive down the road I look at all the different churches and see how Christians have found a way to separate themselves from another in the stand of what they believe.  But does that show a single passion.  I’m sorry to bust anyone’s bubble but this nation is not a Christian nation and is not out for us to be passionate but instead slowly over time slowly converting us to be more like the world.

Colossians 3:23- Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,

1 Corinthians 10:31- So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Galatians 5:24- And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Psalm 32:8- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Psalm 73:25-26- Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.  My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

1 Corinthians 9:22- To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak.  I have become all things to all people that by all means I might save some.

You need to find your passion, and the first thing that you need to see is if it is of this world or of heaven.  Then you need to understand your passion because passion is not something that is there and goes away, it sticks you it oozes from you it radiates from you.  Passion is the drive that everyone has that motivates them and propels them to succeed.  If the Lord is not your passion then you need to think what is blocking you.

We need to have a passion for the Lord.
